There's mud in them there hills!
We were excited to hit the Painted Canyon Nature Trail. It was less than a mile, but it proved more challenging than we thought.
Before we even made it to the trailhead, this is what we encountered...

...yep, that is Bison poo! I am so hoping we see an Bison!
So, all of a sudden the girls and I walked around the corner and were greeted by Kyle, covered in mud. "Guess what I did?". We all guessed right away, "You tried to climb that hill, right?". Yep, he did, except he thought the hill would be rock, it wasn't, it was mud. Here is his demonstration of what happened.
We laughed at our little hike through the mud. The fall colors were beautiful though! The purples, gold, and burnt orange were amazing. And we did see a bison way off in a field! It was a lot of fun. Back up in the parking lot, we were all lined up sitting on the sidewalk scraping the mud out of our shoes before getting back in the car. We were quite a sight!
